Howdy Jewelry Fan! I’m finally feeling my way back to myself after being adrift for a bit. Know what I mean? There are so many GOOD ways to be adrift: on an innertube down a lazy river. Adrift in the flow of time on a beach with the sun warming your skin and the flintiness of the sand flowing in and out of your nose, lungs and somehow working its’ way into your heart. There’s adrift snuggled up on the couch watching a late Spring snow squall’s silent fury from beneath the blanket your grandma crocheted for you; a cup of tea warming your hands and soul. There’s even adrift in the moment of recognition, of love, of connection with someone new or even someone as worn and comfortable to you as your favorite work shirt, left elbow ripped out after 23 years of wear. So many ways to be adrift. GOOD ways. A lifetime of living has taught me these things.

Howdy Jewelry Fan! Let’s talk about the elephant in the room right off the bat: the current Covid-19 pandemic is unprecedented, and we’ve all hit pause. Whew! So glad that’s over. Your home, I’m home, we’re all home. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, unless you’re a brave front-line health care worker, and then you’re hardly home, and when you are home, you might even be in your room or RV in the yard so as not to expose your loved ones to this killer virus. And if you are a front-line Healthcare worker—read ‘til the end. I have something special for you.

Howdy Jewelry Fan!! Whew!! 2020 looks soooooo good on you! And hopefully me. But can we both admit that life is a bit wild? If you’re like me, you’ve got so much going on, personally and professionally. How do you keep track of it all? How do you find the grounded focus to help you navigate through the wildly oscillating energies of the days, weeks, and months? That’s a tough nut to crack and while it’s different for each of us, I think that choosing a Mantra each month helps me understand what direction I need to move the needle towards.

Howdy Jewelry Fan!! I’ve been contemplating this BIG question: What’s in my Bran(d) Muffin? What IS Original Sin Jewelry all about?? Is this a seven- grain muffin, or a solo ingredient blueberry muffin? What do I stand for? What do we, as a larger community of Humans and Art Jewelry Aficionado’s, believe?? What ingredients have I softened, shredded, mixed, folded and whipped into this deliciously refreshing, positively (sideways) thinking business of mine??

Howdy Jewelry Fan! We’ve come steamrolling into 2020, and there’s so much great stuff going on, it’s hard to believe it. I began 2019 thinking things were reaching a new level. And they did. And that has only continued and expanded into this New Year. If you're tracking (following) Original Sin Jewelry’s journey on social media—Facebook (@OriginalSinJewelry) & Instagram (@margaret_osj), you may have noticed that I’m settling into a Brick and Mortar Store at La Encantada in Tucson, AZ.

Howdy Jewelry Fans! The season has changed and many of us are tucking away our sunscreen for next year (although those of us in the South and Southwest have a bit more sun time on the clock). Does the beach linger in your mind as we slide into the reaping season? The endless churning of potential and actual, the edge of static and emotive, I’ve always loved to walk along the shore, finding life a balance of the future on the horizon and the amazing, beautiful mess of chaos at my feet all along the shore. I’m often stuffing my pockets with objects, transformed in the depths of the ocean and the edge of civilization. They’re secret treasures, their transformation to something else a reality of my journey through life.
I love the Ocean. The Lakes. The Rivers. The tiny bubbling Streams crossing properties and terra all around this great planet of ours. During my Navy days, haze gray and underway was always a soothing constant of change and routine, mission and sacrifice. I’m lucky to have seen dolphins playing in the bow wake of sailboat, cruiser, frigate and amphib. I’ve been in the middle of the Oceans of Earth where nary a light could be found, where humans mattered not to the towering 40ft waves of a northern Atlantic Storm. In these ways, I learned that we, humans, matter little to the churning waters of our planet.

Let's get Nerdy for a bit, shall we? As I've been working with more Gold, I find myself talking about the karat, purity, strength, color and attributes of the different types of Gold in Original Sin Jewelry's Collections at shows. Since my website is a 24 hours a day, 365 (and 1/4) days a year show, it makes sense to talk about it here too. Right?

As I wander, as you wander, Jewelry Fans, are you Lost or Found? Have you centered and grounded yourself in such a way that acceptance, competence, confidence and neutrality filter in and overtake the worrying ego in your minds with the simple ease of GRACE. In those moments are you Lost, your essence adrift without the anchor of place, or are you Found, so that no matter where you go, you are perfectly there? For a lot of you, for most folks, I think, it's easier to have the feeling of Grace when you are centered and grounded in your Place, your home, your town, your job, your family.

I learned that in my Grandma’s Before, a life where she didn’t have the white hair (which I now have), and gentle wrinkles around her eyes and mouth when she smiled (which I now have), she lived in New York City. She lived in flats that needed coal. She lived with her 5 brothers and sisters and her dad was a baker. They spoke Hungarian and cooked Hungarian. They had these big, special keys that opened their doors, their wardrobes, the boxes that stored their Silver and their Tea. Imagine a world where Tea was so special, you locked it up in box so no swiping hands made off with the best tea in the house for a secret cup of brew.

Confession time, I mean Original Sin ain’t my business name for no reason! I’m not a super fan of cake. Please, don’t be upset—I definitely do my part to consume cake, in its various forms and preferably Chocolate or Carrot to be specific (although I had this out-of-this-world Ricotta Cake at a tiny restaurant in Milan, Italy that I could most likely eat every day, twice a day). At some point in my life, my most amazing Mom started baking me Peach Pies for my Birthdays.
